Lunch from Mighty Quinns in Clifton, NJ

Dan and I needed a quick meal so we stopped by Mighty Quinn's.  They had some delicious new things on the menu that we both really enjoyed it, and of course had to get brisket because it's the best there.  The pork cheeks special was so tender and a more complex flavor.  The beet salad was light and refreshing as well.
Pork Cheeks with pickled cucumbers and vinegar cole slaw

My huge pile of brisket with vinegar cole slaw and pickled cucumbers

Roasted beet salad with fennel, mint and orange vinaigrette

Dan got a brisket sammie

I just thought this sign was f-ing hilarious.  Look at the sexy chicken!

Dinner from Satay Malaysian Cuisine in Hoboken, NJ

We ordered some delicious food from Satay in Hoboken.  We were both pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was.  The food also came pretty quickly, which was great.  The menu is vast so lots of things I'd like to order in the future.
Malaysian Pork Chop - sweet and slightly spicy sauce.  Great flavor.  Reminded me a little of peking style pork chop

Roti Canai - addictive!  The curry was so delicious.  We wished the dipping bowl were bigger

Some quality Pad Thai with chicken

Dinner at Park & Sixth in Jersey City, NJ

We hadn't been to Park & Sixth in awhile so we headed there for dinner.  The outdoor seating was packed but lots of room inside.  Food was bomb as usual.  The drinks were also excellent but didn't want to go nuts.  I'm not sure why the Draper (formerly P&S Gastropub) is still closed, but the original P&S is always a good meal.
Dan got Meatloaf - with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and jack daniels portabello gravy

Special that I saw on instragram and why we went - softshell crab po boy.  Excellent

Delicious cocktails

Braised short rib pot stickers with sesame ginger beef broth, scallions and gorgonzola.  A bit of an odd combo but tasty

Banana Bread Pudding with brandy whipped cream.  Great flavor but I think it was old because the pudding was kind of oddly hard

Dinner at Saigon Cafe in Jersey City, NJ

We finally tried Saigon Cafe on Newark Ave in Jersey City.  Much nicer environment and everything tasted delicious and fresh.  It's a little more expensive than the other Vietnamese place we go to but it's a much nicer place and more pleasant to go to, plus it's walkable.  Glad we finally tried it out!
Goi Cuon - Summer Rolls: with lettuce, bean sprouts, mint leaves, pork and shrimp in soft rice paper with homemade peanut sauce.  Delicious and freshing

A special of the day - rice dumpling stuffed with pork

Inside of the dumpling.  Great light flavor and paired nicely with the pickled veggies

Crab meat fried rice special - delicious and hard not to eat all at once

Banh Hoi - fused rice vermicelli cakes - steamed thin angel-hair rice vermicelli nooddle cut into squares. Served with lettuce, mint leaves, ground peanuts, fried shallots, cucumbers, pickled carrots, fish dipping sauce and beef.  Like the bun I usually ordered but you can make little lettuce wraps like tacos.  Didn't heat up so great because the noodles were hard, but great fresh. I especially loved the fried shallots with it

Dinner from Taqueria Viva in Jersey City, NJ

Dan had a taco craving so we ordered from Taqueria Viva.  I ordered a special rib dish, which was very hearty and lasted for two meals. The tacos were great as usual and Dan always enjoys the enchiladas.  Reliable go-to.
Pork Ribs and Green Sauce Wednesday special with rice and refried beans

Shredded Chicken Enchiladas

Carne Asada Tacos.  Great flavor and they listen and actually don't put on onions

Dinner at Teppan Bar & Grill in Jersey City, NJ

Dan and I wee feeling like sushi so we went to Teppan and sat at the bar.  I don't think people know about their dollar sushi menu, which is fine by me because I don't want them to stop doing it.  Everything was delicious though we probably ordered too much food.  The drink I got was a little gross - the watermelon squeeze (both too sweet and tart) but the food was worth it.
Pan fried pork gyoza - great flavor and not too greasy

3 sushi rolls for 13.76 (eel avocado, yellowtail scallion, and tuna plus assorted pieces that ranged from $1 - 1.75

Calamari salad pre-mixed

Calamari salad all mixed up.  The calamari was well bread and very meaty.  We were just kind of full by the time we got this

Brunch at Sugar and Plumm in NYC

We had our book club at Sugar and Plumm on the Upper West Side.  It was honestly one of the worst meal experiences.  The wait was almost an hour even though there seemed like there was turnover.  Screaming kids because it was basically Willy Wonka in real life except with sourfaced employees.  Plus like five children's birthday parties/baby showers at the same time so super loud.  The saving grace was the food was delicious but environment wise I don't think I could ever go back - at least not without having some alcohol along with my meal ha.
Braised Beef Short Rib Benedict - Tracy got it and seemed to enjoy it.  The short rib looked well cooked

Kavita got house smoked salmon and bagel with cream cheese, red onions, capers, heirloom egg and tomatoes

This was one of two dishes Nicole and I shared.  Great chicken and waffles though I was a little surprised by the style of the chicken.  More like Chinese style chicken than Southern but tasted great and the waffle had nice flavor too

Lemon Ricotta pancakes with fresh berries, lemon curd and vermont maple syrup.  It was soooo good but not quite as good as the one at Roman Nose

Debbie got a Classic Cheese Burger with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles, special sauce and fries.  Seemed like it hit the spot
