Dinner at Pet Shop in Jersey City, NJ

Dan has wanted to cut down on meat so we went to Pet Shop in JC, which is a vegetarian spot in downtown JC.  Since the first time we went there, we've been there countless times so this post is actually from several meals.  Great creative options that actually don't make you even miss the meat.  Drinks are cheap though it's better for beer/cider than cocktails.  Lots of space and fun punk-ish vibe for Dan.  Great to have something different in our 'hood.
Cauliflower "wings" in buffalo sauce with vegan ranch, carrots, celery.  Nice and crispy and very meaty

Southwest Salad - Chopped iceberg lettuce, cherry tomato halves, grilled corn, black beans, house smoked mushroom “bacon bits,” shredded mixed cheese, fried corn tortilla strips with cilantro lime dressing

Southwest salad all mixed up.  Tasty and healthy-ish but a little too much lime for me

Caramelized Onion burger - IMPOSSIBLE BURGER, vegenaise, lettuce, tomato, pickles, caramelized onion, potato bun, fries.

"Sausage and "Scallop" Jambalaya - Jambalaya seasoned rice with diced bell peppers, jalapeños, house made smoked “sausage” seitan, and marinated king oyster mushroom “scallops”.  Dan really liked this.  The seitan texture for some reason didn't sit well with me (it was oddly smooth) but good flavors

Loaded Tater Tots - Fried tater tots with house nacho cheese, gardein "ground beef," pico de gallo, "bacon bits," shredded mixed cheese, crema, jalapenos, and cilantro leaves.  No complaints here

Jalapeno Cheese Curds - Hand breaded Wisconsin jalapeño flavored cheese curds. Served with cilantro crèma sauce and parsley.  A tad spicy but very nice when craving fried cheese
"Sausage" and Peppers sandwich - Housemade smoked seitan Vegenaise, bell pepper, onion, Portuguese hero, fries. Again,  Dan really liked it, and I had issues with the seitan sausage texture.  Glad he liked it though.  They also give an insane amount of fries
