Brunch at North End Grill in NYC

Dan and I went to Danny Meyer's new place in Battery Park - North End Grill.  First of all, it is super close to WTC, making it one of the closest restaurants to my apartment.  Second, it had a ridic wall of scotch, bar, and wine cellar.  Amazing.  Anyway, all of the food we had was wonderful.  The maple bacon croissant is easily in the top five of things I've ever eaten.  The croissant was perfectly buttery and flaky, and the bacon so thick and nicely sweet and salty.  Half of one wasn't enough.  The rest of our food was top notch as well.  I would definitely come back, though it's a toss up for brunch or dinner because those croissants are only available at brunch.  Decisions decisions.

Chocolate and Hazelnut Croissant - delicious mix of chocolate and hazelnut, but not too messy

Maple bacon croissant

Inside of maple bacon croissant.  BEST DECISION EVER.

Chicken Burger with pickled cucumber and Asian slaw.  The burger was very moist and light.  The cucumber was a nice touch and the slaw very refreshing.  Also had sriracha mayo.

Side of crispy potato hash.  Okay but nothing memorable.

Thrice-fried spiced fries.  Veryyyy flavorful.  The cumin was a little overpowering so I couldn't eat too many.

Johnnycake Benedict - Dan got this.  Johnnycake base with lamb bacon, poached eggs, and chipotle hollandaise.  The johnnycake was a deliciously different vehicle for the rest.  Lamb bacon nice and crisp and everything else nicely done.
