Dinner at Thursday Kitchen in NYC

I took Elena to Thursday Kitchen for a belated bday dinner.  It's a new-ish Korean tapas joint that is super popular on Yelp.  They don't take reservations so we went there right when it opened, and we were still not even the first people there.  We had no trouble getting seated though since it was early. By the time we were finishing up though, the entire place was packed!  The food was good but not super memorable.  Nothing that I personally would run back for especially with all the other delicious Korean places in the city.
Back of our menu.  They put the menus on childhood (like from the 80s) books which was hilarious

Gnocchi - korean chili pepper sauce, garlic aioli and seaweed crunch.  Tasty but a little spicy fo rme

Edamame dumpling - steamed, citrus truffle oil, green pepper, and parmigiano.  I enjoyed these but too much truffle for Elena

Not so plain-tain - pan-seared sweet plantain, korean chimichurri, honey ricotta, roasted pistachio, dried cranberries, and crispy plantain crumbles - There was a LOT going on.  I think a little too much to get a cohesive bite.  I think this dish would've been better with maybe two less ingredients on it

Korean popcorn chicken - sweet and spicy sauce, black sesame crumbles.  This was the dish I was most excited for.  It was just kind of ehh which was disappointing. Also came so late and we were kind of full by then.
