Breakfast at Happy Donuts and Dottie's True Blue Cafe in San Francisco, CA

Had a pre-pre breakfast at Happy Donuts on the way to real breakfast at Dottie's True Blue Cafe.  We had to because (1) it was National Donut Day, and (2) there was a long line to get into Dottie's and we were hugnry.  While the neighborhood left much to be desired (i.e. def saw several drugged up people while waiting online), the food was delicious!  The glazed donut was prob one of the best I've ever had.  The apple crumb was good but I'm not a huge fan of fruit flavored anything unless it's the straight up fruit.  The food at Dottie's was def worth the wait.  Huge portions and everything was very flavorful.  Kind of a traditional diner with Mexican flair.

Apple Crumb donut + Glazed donut

Smoked whiskey fennel sausage, mushroom, and baby spinach scramble with home fries and grilled chili-cheddar corn bread and jalapeno jelly.  Obvi Dan ordered this.  All were delicious.  I thought the corn bread would be sweeter though, which is my only negative comment

Chorizo onion and cheddar scramble minus onion and replaced with corn.  Such a great idea because I heart corn and it really added to the dish.  Plus home fries and pico de gallo and flour tortillas.  I basically made a bunch of little breakfast burritos and it was DELISH
