Our hotel was on the same street as Cafe Beignet, so one morning I walked over (in the rain, mind you) for beignets because wanted to make sure we had some and Cafe Du Monde was far and I expected crowded. Another day, we were able to go there for some with no line at all. Just depends on the time of day. Both are excellent, but I'm a Cafe Du Monde girl for life. I also got to pick up some mixes and coffee for gifts, and much cheaper than any of the other gift shops.
