Home-made Filipino dinner

 We felt like comfort food, so Dan took it upon himself to make the quintessential Filipino comfort food - arroz caldo, which is rice broth in English.  He added chicken and lots of ginger, and we had also added some home-made lumpia shanghai, which I had frozen in the fridge.  This is the recipe we used, which was easy to follow and tasted like my dad's.  Instead of bouillon cubes, we just used chicken broth.  The toppings are really whatever you like, but you must have scallions at least.
